Course Description
This course prepares healthcare staff to respond effectively during a Code Blue emergency at KKESH. It focuses on team-based resuscitation, CPR coordination, communication during cardiac arrest events, and correct use of emergency equipment. Learners will strengthen their confidence in recognizing cardiac arrest, initiating life-saving interventions, and supporting the Code Blue team using standardized clinical response protocols.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Differentiate between medical emergencies and Code Blue situations to ensure the appropriate response level.
- Initiate Code Blue activation correctly, including assessing patient responsiveness and providing precise location details.
- Perform high-quality CPR and safe defibrillation according to current life support guidelines.
- Execute specific team roles (Team Leader, First Responder, Recorder, Medication Nurse) to optimize coordination and reduce errors.
- Manage emergency equipment efficiently, including the correct positioning and setup of the crash cart.
- Apply post-code protocols regarding accurate documentation, family support, and equipment restocking.
