Course Description

This course provides healthcare staff with essential knowledge and practical awareness of safety systems at KKESH. It covers fire prevention and response, hazardous materials management, disaster preparedness, biomedical equipment safety, utility system awareness, and security procedures. Learners will gain an understanding of hospital safety codes, emergency response responsibilities, and workplace risk prevention. The course supports a proactive safety culture by strengthening staff readiness to respond to incidents and emergencies.

  • Define hospital safety policies, codes, and staff responsibilities
  • Describe the fire triangle and principles of fire prevention
  • Demonstrate the R.A.C.E. and P.A.S.S. fire response procedures
  • Identify types of fire extinguishers and their correct use
  • Explain the hospital disaster plan and emergency preparedness phases
  • Recognize hazardous material symbols, NFPA ratings, and KKESH labeling
  • Apply safe waste segregation, disposal practices, and spill response
  • Describe protocols for biomedical equipment safety and malfunction reporting
  • Apply security codes and procedures for suspicious packages, missing children, and aggression
  • Demonstrate accident prevention practices, including ergonomics, needle stick injury response, and hazard surveillance
